Installation Essentials and Tips
Installing these large format panels is a popular DIY project, but preparation and the correct adhesive are crucial:
1. Surface Preparation
- The wall surface must be clean, dry, and flat/level. Use a filler or skimming compound to smooth out any major imperfections, as the large panels will highlight bumps.
- Ensure any loose paint, dust, or grease is removed for maximum adhesion.
2. Cutting
- The thickness is easily cut with standard woodworking tools like a fine-tooth saw or a jigsaw (use a fine-tooth blade).
- Always cut from the back side of the panel to prevent chipping the decorative surface.
- Recommended: A Solvent-Free High-Grab Construction Adhesive or a Hybrid Polymer (MS Polymer) Adhesive specifically designed for PVC/Cladding.
- Reason: These provide a powerful, flexible bond that is waterproof and won’t damage the PVC material.
- Application: Apply the adhesive to the back of the panel in a zigzag pattern (with a bead around the entire perimeter) to ensure uniform coverage.
3. Sealing and Finishing
